About me
Hi there! I’m Lorraine Leibbrandt — founder of Dogwarts, and a proud dog nerd with a wand in one hand and a treat pouch in the other.
I didn’t get my Hogwarts letter (still waiting), so I settled for the next best thing; dedicating my life to helping dogs and their muggles understand each other better. I may be a certified dog nerd, but my true passion runs deeper: I’m endlessly fascinated by the mammalian brain, the emotions that drive behaviour, and how we can help animals heal by understanding what’s really going on beneath the surface.
I especially love working with anxious, traumatised, and aggressive animals — not by simply managing the symptoms, but by finding the why behind the behaviour and gently changing the way they feel about the world. For me, it’s not just about obedience; it’s about emotional well-being, trust, and transformation.
Since 2017, I’ve been building my magical toolkit through accredited training, and I’ve completed my Diploma in Animal Behaviour through COAPE. I continue to explore the fascinating world of animal behaviour to better serve every dog (and one day, more than just dogs!) that crosses my path.
